Directional Drilling Foreman
A Directional Drilling Foreman oversees and manages daily directional drilling operations. The successful candidate will ensure the safe, efficient, and effective execution of all directional drilling and activities. The Foreman will also manage field operations, lead crews, and maintain the highest quality and safety standards.
Directional Drilling Foreman Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of directional drilling activities on-site, ensuring they are conducted safely and efficiently.
- Supervise and lead a team of directional drilling operators and crew members, ensuring operational and safety standards adherence.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other departments (e.g., utility locators, traffic control, engineers, operations, and safety) to ensure seamless execution of the project.
- Monitor and direct the crew to meet project specifications.
- Ensure that all equipment is properly working and coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs and service.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues on-site to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate documentation of drilling progress, equipment maintenance, and personnel.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct pre-job safety meetings and ensure all personnel are trained on job-specific tasks.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders on job status and issues.
Directional Drilling Foreman Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Directional Drilling Foreman or in a similar role in the drilling industry.
- In-depth knowledge of directional drilling techniques, tools, and equipment.
- Rock/Air Hammer experience is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to lead a crew in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Familiarity with safety procedures, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drilling plans and specifications.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).
- Ability to work in remote locations and under challenging environmental conditions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work long hours, including nights and weekends, as required.
- Willingness to travel to remote locations and work in varying weather conditions.
